Shaping a diversity and inclusion strategy for a fast-growing tech business
AND Digital are one of the UK’s fastest growing tech organisations. Their mission is to close the world’s digital skills gap, and they do this by working in true partnership with their clients’ teams.
The business has grown exponentially since launching in 2014 and has ambitious plans to continue to grow over the next five years. AND Digital describes itself as a 'people first' company, and we started working with them in 2020 to formalise an approach around diversity and inclusion to futureproof their incredible business.
The first phase of this work was a period of intensive discovery. We worked with key stakeholders in the business to gather anecdotal feedback about the culture, successes and where there might be room for improvement. We worked through the output of their inclusion survey to identify key trends, and we conducted a review of internal policy and external best-practice.
At the end of this first phase of work, we presented back a comprehensive report on our findings and recommendations to enable AND to take the next steps in their growth journey towards a truly inclusive company which represents the geographies in which it works and the clients which it supports.
The report included recommended steps to define a clear vision for D&I in the business, a series of key strategies to deliver the vision, and a set of mid and short-term goals to begin this journey in earnest.
It's been wonderful working with Trish, she really got to know our business and culture. She asked us the difficult questions, in a non-abrasive way and held the mirror up to the areas we needed to apply focus to. She also adds value in so many other ways - a sounding board, she joins internal panels and puts us in touch with other people in her network. I'm really looking forward to working with Trish in Phase 2.
