Culture Change

Some of our clients already have a very mature approach to equality, diversity & inclusion embedded within their organisations. Others will need more of a partnership approach to help them move from an aspiration to a reality.

All of our clients are different to one another, so there’s no such thing as a “typical” client journey. There are often similar elements to the steps we take for clients who are at the beginning of their conversations around diversity & inclusion.

A New Normal has been an incredible partner over the last months as we have developed our diversity and inclusion vision and strategy.

They have engaged with our team brilliantly at all levels and across divisions through a series of workshops that have been a huge success for all stakeholders involved.

Richard Noble, Director of Communications at Audible UK

Audible is an industry-leading seller and producer of spoken audio entertainment, information, and educational programming. Audible’s people and audiences in the UK are at the heart of its business, and in 2019, the UK team decided they wanted to make a real shift in their approach to diversity and inclusion.

We’ve partnered with Audible to help them understand where they are presently, and to design a vision and series of strategies to move them forwards with their culture around D&I in the UK.

Our work has included:

  • Discovery sessions with employees and key teams to understand their perspectives on life at Audible and their ways of working.

  • Design and delivery of interactive workshops for the UK Leadership Team.

  • Supporting the creation of a vision statement and a plan of action to further embed inclusivity as a way of life in the UK business.

  • Designing and facilitating workshops for all UK employees to build their knowledge around diversity, inclusion and unconscious bias, with a particular focus on empowering individuals to make changes.

Authentic, arresting, motivating, challenging, moving ...

Paul Keenan, President of Audio,

Bauer Media

Bauer Media has people at its heart, both those who work there, and the audiences they serve. They've been running initiatives around D&I for some time, but felt they needed to really accelerate progress around inclusion and their culture. We supported them to create and implement a refreshed inclusion strategy, including:

  • Running discovery sessions and developing a clear vision and strategy for their approach to D&I.

  • Working with our discovery partners great{with}talent to develop and roll out a staff survey, to understand the baseline for the company.

  • Designing and facilitating a launch event, to engage leadership to drive change in the organisation.

  • Reviewing survey results and making recommendations to continue to embed D&I.

  • Designing and running a full-day event for 60 top leaders in the company, to help them understand more about inclusion, motivate them to take action and equip them to drive culture change.

  • Designing and running half-day workshops for managers and activists across Bauer in the UK to empower them to take action to drive a more inclusive working culture.

  • Supporting Bauer in an end to end review of recruitment in the UK business, and recommending process changes.

  • Designing a Best Practice Recruitment Guide for Bauer UK.

  • Designing and running training for hiring managers in Bauer business.
